Disney’s Frozen Broadway Musical Comes to Manila in April 2027
Manila theater already has one of its biggest 2027 titles, and we do not even have a cast yet.
9 Works Theatrical is bringing Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical to Manila for its Philippine premiere in April 2027 at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, Makati.
Yes, Manila is going to Arendelle.
The musical is based on Disney’s 2013 animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Filipino-American composer Robert Lopez, and a book by Jennifer Lee.
It also arrives with a built-in problem for whoever stages it: almost everyone already knows what Frozen is supposed to look, sound, and feel like.

So no, we cannot start fancasting Elsa just yet. Or at least we probably should not.
This is the Broadway Frozen, not simply the movie onstage
If your entire relationship with Frozen begins and ends with the movie, the stage musical gives the story considerably more room.
The songs everyone expects are there, including “Let It Go,” “For the First Time in Forever,” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”, alongside material written specifically for the theatrical version.
More importantly, musical theater gives Elsa and Anna something the movie could only fit into its running time: more space.
More time with Elsa’s fear. More time with Anna’s loneliness. More time for the distance between two sisters who love each other but spend most of the story not knowing how to reach each other.
And underneath all the snow, projections, costumes, transformations, ice effects, Sven, Olaf, and whatever technical tricks eventually appear at the Proscenium, that relationship still has to work.
An ice palace can impress for several minutes. Elsa and Anna have to carry an entire musical.
Frozen may be one of 9 Works Theatrical’s trickier assignments
The spectacle is expected before anyone even walks into the theater.
That is what makes Frozen particularly interesting for 9 Works.
The company has already been testing what it can do with scale at Rockwell. The Bodyguard leaned into polish, concert energy, and star power. On Your Feet! depended on movement, rhythm, and a stage that had to keep feeling alive. YEMAYA showed another side of what 9 Works could build within the Proscenium Theater complex.
Frozen asks for all of that technical confidence, then adds Disney-sized expectations on top of it.
Audiences already have an Elsa in their heads. They know the dress. They know the song. They know exactly when that transformation is supposed to land.
The Manila production cannot survive on recognition alone.
It has to make those familiar moments feel like they are happening for the first time.
Disney returns to 9 Works Theatrical
There is history here, too.
According to 9 Works Theatrical, the last Disney Theatricals musical staged in Manila was its own production of Disney’s Newsies in 2017.
Ten years later, the company returns to Disney with a title that barely needs an introduction.
Frozen opened in cinemas in 2013. The children who would not stop singing “Let It Go” are older now. Some will walk into this production as adults. Younger audiences have grown up with Elsa and Anna as permanent fixtures of Disney culture.
Manila does not need to be sold on Frozen. Everyone knows Frozen.
What 9 Works now has to prove is why this story needs to be seen live, in this theater, with this company telling it.
Who will play Elsa and Anna in Frozen Manila?
We do not know yet.
No Manila cast has been announced as of August 17, 2026.
That will probably become the next major conversation around the production because Elsa and Anna are not roles you can hide behind production value.
Elsa needs the voice, obviously, but “Let It Go” cannot be the entire performance. Anna needs the comedy and momentum without becoming exhausting. And the two of them have to convince us that the musical is really about these sisters, not the snowstorm around them.
Whoever gets those parts will be stepping into two of Disney’s most recognizable modern roles.
No pressure.
When do Frozen Manila tickets go on sale?
Tickets are not yet on sale.
9 Works Theatrical has not announced ticket prices, a ticket-selling date, or the exact April 2027 performance schedule.
The company says further announcements, including auditions and ticket availability, will be released through its official social media pages at @9WorksTheatrical.

That is already enough to make this one of the Manila theater productions to watch in 2027.
