Puregold Teatro Panalo Shortlists 26 One-Act Works
Puregold Teatro Panalo has shortlisted 26 original Filipino one-act works from 373 entries, according to the festival's press release supplied to Unsaulicited on October 7, 2026. The shortlist includes 16 straight plays and 10 musicals.
The shortlist is not the festival lineup. Another round of selection will narrow it to 12 works: eight straight plays and four musicals. Those selected works are scheduled for the inaugural festival from February 20 to March 14, 2027, according to the latest release.
Puregold senior marketing manager Ivy Hayagan-Piedad chairs the festival, with Vincent de Jesus as festival director. Wishbone Collective Inc. is the festival organizer providing development and production support.

The release's shorter listing should not be read as a sole-writer credit.
Compensation and support for the final 12
According to the release, the selected playwrights will receive Php 100,000 in compensation, plus development and production support from Wishbone Collective Inc. These are commitments worth following as the chosen scripts move toward staging. The release does not explain how compensation will be allocated when a selected work has multiple credited writers.
At the end of the festival, one straight play and one musical will receive development grants intended to turn the one-act works into full-length theatrical productions.
The materials supplied on October 7 did not include a venue, individual performance schedules, or ticket details. Readers still need those particulars before planning a visit.
