GMG Productions has announced Filipino actor Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante as Sandra in the Manila premiere of The Play That Goes Wrong. Her character is an actor trying to get through a murder mystery while the show around her steadily comes apart.

The comedy runs from November 6 to 22, 2026 at The Theatre at Solaire, Solaire Resort Entertainment City in Paranaque City, Metro Manila. GMG presents the Mischief production in arrangement with Mischief Worldwide Ltd, with Hannah Sharkey directing the Manila company.

Sandra belongs to the fictional Cornley Drama Society, which is attempting to stage The Murder at Haversham Manor, a 1920s murder mystery. She plays Florence Colleymoore in that production.

A murder mystery with more pressing problems

Cornley has a story to tell, but the production keeps getting in the way. The set collapses, props disappear, cues are missed and lines are forgotten. The company battles on, trying to reach the final curtain despite the accumulating evidence that the evening is beyond saving.

For the real cast, those failures have to land on cue. The characters can lose track of what is happening; the performers need to know exactly where the next mishap belongs. Sandra gives Mikkie a role within a role, with Florence's murder-mystery drama competing with the problems of keeping a live performance going.

Written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, The Play That Goes Wrong premiered in London in 2012. It won the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. In 2017, Nigel Hook won the Tony Award for Best Scenic Design of a Play for the show's set design.

Mikkie's recent stage credits include the Baker's Wife in Theatre Group Asia's Into the Woods, Antonia in Repertory Philippines' Man of La Mancha, and Raquel in Barefoot Theatre Collaborative's Anthropology. Her comedy credits also include Barbara Smith in Run for Your Wife.

The announced Manila cast also includes Tom Babbage as Chris, Owen Jenkins as Robert, Sebastiano Pitruzzello as Max, Liam Horrigan as Jonathan, Tom Hayward as Dennis, Olivia Charalambous as Annie and Jake Curran as Trevor. Stuart Vincent, Tom Bulpett and Stephanie Astrid are the company's understudies.
