Proscenium Theater Seating: K26 and I36
Proscenium Theater Seating: K26 and I36
A seat plan can show where you will sit, but it cannot tell you how a production will feel from there. These are my notes from seats I have actually watched from at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, Makati, with the show attached to each observation.
This guide covers K26 for South Pacific: The Comeback and I36 for The Bodyguard. There is also a separate note on Spring Awakening at The Black Box, because a recommendation for one space should not be carried straight into another.
Seats I have watched from
| Seat | Production | My experience |
|---|---|---|
| K26 | South Pacific: The Comeback, 2026 | A full-stage view that still kept me connected to the performers. |
| I36 | The Bodyguard, 2025 | A side orchestra view that felt intimate, with comfortable seating and ample legroom. |
K26: room for the whole production
I watched South Pacific: The Comeback from K26, and I would not have wanted to move much closer for that particular show. I could follow Nellie and Emile while still noticing the smaller interactions around them, and the larger stage pictures had room to register as complete compositions.
That balance is why the seat worked for me. If you like seeing how the whole stage comes together while remaining connected to the performers, my South Pacific review explains what I could appreciate from K26.
I36: a side seat that still felt close
For The Bodyguard, I was in I36, which I described in my review as orchestra left, the ninth row and the second seat from the edge. The view was not perfectly central, but the staging worked from where I sat and the distance still felt intimate.
I also found the seat comfortable, with ample legroom. That experience is useful if you are considering the side orchestra, although blocking and set pieces can change what you see from the same angle. Read my The Bodyguard review for the full account.
The Black Box has its own sightlines
Spring Awakening played at The Black Box at The Proscenium Theater, a different performance space from the main auditorium discussed above. In my review of the 2026 staging, I found that its predominantly front-facing blocking favored center seats, while side views could lose some connection with the production design backdrop and certain emotional projections.
That note belongs to that staging. Check the layout offered for the production you plan to see, and read my Spring Awakening review for the context behind the recommendation.
Before choosing your seat
Start with the seating map for your chosen performance, then compare it with the kind of view you enjoy. A full-stage musical, an intimate play and a concert can ask different things of the same seat, and a higher ticket price does not explain those differences on its own.
If you need a particular access arrangement or want to clarify a restricted view, ask the venue or ticket seller about the exact seat before paying. These notes cover two specific seats and productions; they are not a survey of every row or the Dress Circle.
